InSight: Clinically Proven Results
InSight works.
Demonstrated effectiveness in clinical trials is always a priority for Posit Science.
The InSight exercises incorporate Useful Field of View (UFOV®)—a visual training technology described in numerous published studies. Many of these studies were funded by the National Institutes of Health. Results show that people who use this training technology experience multiple improvements, including:
A 300% average increase in visual processing speed
Faster processing helps your brain capture more visual information, which helps you react to situations and remember more detail.
A 200% average increase in useful field of view
“Useful field of view” is the area over which your brain can successfully take in details without moving your head or eyes. The size of your useful field of view shrinks with age, reducing what you take in. A larger useful field of view is beneficial in many ways, including personal safety. For example, it helps you see things coming at you from the edges (a deer bounding into the street, a crack in the sidewalk) in time to react safely to them.
Improved safety and greater confidence in driving
Using InSight reduces dangerous driving maneuvers by 38%. It does so by improving skills critical to safe driving, such as scanning and judging available space in traffic. These improvements give people the skills and confidence to drive more often and in more difficult situations, such as at night, in the snow, or in unfamiliar places. Even people who are already "good drivers" (at a low risk for accidents) can make significant improvements.
Better maintenance of health-related quality of life
Data from the largest study ever conducted on a cognitive training program shows that after five years, people who have trained with the UFOV technology in InSight are much more likely to have maintained their health status than people who did not.
A greater likelihood of staying independent longer
UFOV training has been demonstrated to improve many skills critical to independent living. These include driving and health status, as described above. Other skills include the ability to perform key daily activities—such as taking medications and managing money—more quickly and accurately. In aggregate, these benefits enable people to maintain independent living.
