Posit Science Corporation seeks a Senior Release Engineer for our QA Team. We offer a unique opportunity to work with a dedicated and collaborative team of industry veterans creating products and to substantially improve the lives of millions of people.

Background
Posit Science Corporation is focused on using patented technology to create a line of playable software tools/games to arrest and reverse the cognitive decline associated with aging, which can lead to Mild Cognitive Impairment, Alzheimer’s and senile dementia. The functional design of the software is based on proprietary research conducted by Posit co-founder (and UCSF professor), Dr. Michael Merzenich. That research earlier led to the creation of a successful public company, Scientific Learning Corporation, which addresses similar problems as they apply to child populations.

Release Engineer Responsibilities:

• Work with development engineers to create a repeatable and automated build process for Posit products.
• Provide rapid turn-around for special build requests.
• Provide support to the development engineers for the build system, version control system, and build tools.
• Define and implement processes for milestone software release.
• Coordinate the build and release of production environments.
• Ensure proper archiving and viability of product releases.
• Implement branching and merging of code bases.

Other Responsibilities:

• Work closely with Technical Leads, QA Team and Project managers to ensure environments meet project needs.
• Work in conjunction with the Development and QA teams to maintain & improve multiple-project development environments.

Qualifications:

• BS/BA in Computer Science (preferred) or related technical field.
• Strong understanding of production disciplines (unit testing, system testing, regression testing, documentation, source code management, code deployment).
• Experience with software processes (e.g., Agile, software lifecycles, CMM, etc.)
• Working knowledge of C/C++ and/or Java programming along with various compilers, libraries, packaging, installation and licensing tools.
• Working knowledge of CM tools such as Subversion.
• Solid troubleshooting knowledge of TCP/PPP, Networks, Firewalls, Routers.
• Understanding of Web Apps, Middleware, OS and their inter-dependencies.
• Familiarity with reading Log files, XML, and generating SQL queries to match to source data.
• Must have worked on a product that was released for public consumption.
• Excellent Problem-Solving/Decision Making skills.
• Excellent Communication Skills.
