Video: “Your Brain Is Badly Wired – Enjoy It!”

By on September 30, 2010

Lately I have been really interested in brain tricks, brain teasers, and optical illusions. I had the chance to work on the expanded brain teasers section of our newly re-launched Posit Science website, which introduced me to a whole host of terrific illusions and tricks.

My work on that led me to this funny and surprising video featuring Al Seckel, cognitive scientist and perceptual illusion expert. He illuminates several truly fascinating brain tricks here, many created by him and his colleagues. From DaVinci’s hidden images to impossible shapes, and piles of junk that turn to pianos before your eyes–if you’re wowed by all the ways your brain and perception can trick you, I highly recommend this video.

Wow great video. I’m actually also interested in brain works but somewhat of another kind. I’m mostly trying to learn about the interaction between the left and right side of brain, especially when it comes to doing things like ESP. One thing I’m learning now using brainwave techniques is astral projection. Totally interesting stuff!
