Announcing ThinkFood: a Brain Healthy Cookbook and Recipe of the Week Program!

By on June 16, 2010

You probably know by now that here at Posit Science we build clinically proven brain fitness programs so people can give their brains the best, most effective workouts possible. But we also know that brain training is just one piece of the puzzle. Diet, physical exercise, social activities, and other things all play a role in creating and sustaining a healthy brain. To that end, we are thrilled to announce a new resource for better brain health: our ThinkFood “Recipe of the Week” program.

ThinkFood is a cookbook  that features brain-healthy recipes. We know the science—but, since we’re not chefs ourselves, we asked for help from the food blogging community in creating the recipes. The result is 50 delicious, original brain-healthy recipes, each from a different blogger.

The full cookbook will be available for purchase in July, but starting today you can get a free recipe each week by signing up. People who sign up for the ThinkFood “Recipe of the Week” program will get a healthy and tasty recipe in their email each week, along with access to information on the science, the blogger, and more—all free. Family, friends, co-workers, chefs, aspiring chefs, and those who just want good, healthy recipe ideas, can sign up for our Recipe of the Week for free at www.thinkfoodcookbook.com. For those of you looking to have something for your kitchen bookshelf or for a gift for a friend, a physical version of the ThinkFood cookbook will be available to purchase in at the end of July.

We are so excited to kick our campaign off with these Banana Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies, a recipe created by Tina Haupert from the wonderful healthy eating website Carrots N’ Cake. Don’t they look great? You can see the recipe, print it out, share it with friends, see an exclusive cooking tip from Tina, and find out about all of the brain healthy ingredients in the cookies at  www.thinkfoodcookbook.com. We tried a batch at the office today and they were scrumptious!

We hope you enjoy this foray into food, and here’s to a brain healthy lifestyle!

That’s a tasty recipe! Makes me wanna devour it! :) I’m from Lafayette and have been eating good food all my life. I made a web site for my recipes given to me by my Momma a long time ago. Lots of good food like gumbo and such. Mind looking at it and telling me what you feel about it? I’d be happy to share a recipe to put on your site. Or we could maybe share links? Go here if you wanna see it-> Cajuns. I just saved your site. Will be checking back often. :)

I think about all the people around the globe who are going with these garbage in, garbage out weight loss programs hoping to achieve the weight-loss success of those who sadly are endorsing these products.

  10. Daisy Fox Says:

Do not choose a program that you dont like or you won’t want to do it, so you undoubtedly won’t stick with it for long. I’ve dropped a few pounds without hurting myself, and you probably can, too.

This looks great – what a wonderful idea. think I’ll be cooking up some of these for sure. I try and always think about brain health when making food, as with two elderly parents living with us, we want them to be as alert as poss, for as long as poss. We also foudn a grat free book all about Brain Food, which seems to go into all the Omega 3 etc. It’s been very bhelpful and we’ve been following it for a while now, but we will def. incoerporate some of these recipes too.
